Exciting news – New Books are on the way!!

Here’s a little taster of what’s coming….

While many family history discoveries can be made on your own, there are times when the expertise of a professional genealogist can save you time, money, and frustration.

The Geordie Genealogist

You may benefit from hiring a genealogist if:

  • You’ve hit a “brick wall” and can’t trace an ancestor any further.
  • Records are difficult to locate, interpret, or access.
  • Your ancestors emigrated or immigrated between countries.
  • You need assistance researching military, probate, land, or parish records.
  • Family stories need verifying with documentary evidence.
  • You require a professionally researched family tree for personal, legal, or heritage purposes.
  • You don’t have the time to conduct detailed research yourself.
  • DNA results have revealed unexpected connections that need investigating.
  • Handwriting, old documents, or foreign-language records are difficult to understand.
  • You want confidence that your family history has been researched accurately and thoroughly.

A professional genealogist brings experience, specialist knowledge, and access to resources that can uncover information often missed by inexperienced researchers, helping you discover the story behind your ancestors with greater accuracy and depth.

Introducing the Geordie Genealogist

Way Ey… I’m Ceri

A proud adopted Geordie with a life long passion for uncovering the stories of the past. Living in the North East for the last 6 years I have found a love for the rich history, traditions and characters that make the Geordie’s so special.

I became fascinated with family history when my grandfather decided to research his own based on a story he’d been told about his ancestors being the landowners of the financial district in Manhattan, New York.

After he passed away, I was given his research to continue his legacy and from there I fell in love with the whole idea of family history. Putting pieces of puzzles together to make a story.

Living in England, Scotland and Wales, I combine over 20 years of knowledge from these countries with professional research skills to trace family trees, uncover hidden stories and help others discover their roots whether your family never left the North East or are scattered across the globe, I can help you piece together the puzzle of your past.

What sets me apart, is not just my expertise in records, archives and resources but also my passion for storytelling. To me, a family tree isn’t just names and dates – it’s about the people, the lives they lived and the legacies they left behind.

I’m also here to help you –
  • Navigate your research
  • Guide you through stumbling block and brick walls
  • Help start your own research
  • Do research for you if you don’t have the time
  • Give you hints and tips to help you along
